Bank Project Worker

Hours as and when required, shifts between Monday to Sunday 8am and 9pm

 

 

Do you need flexibility in the days you work?

Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support.

However, you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

 

We’re seeking an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers.

Brighton and Hove Foyer is a supported housing project for 16-25 year olds.

All our customers will have experienced homelessness and some may be care leavers.

Issues they are dealing with include mental health, substance misuse, finding employment, education and training and learning independent living skills.

 

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting our customers to maximise their independence and move forward with their lives
  • Providing safe accommodation for customers with experience of homelessness
  • Regularly assessing the needs of residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting residents in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the residents and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks
  • Going above and beyond to ensure an excellent service is provided to our customers

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse
  • Expertise in support planning, key working, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • Previous experience working under challenging circumstances
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use IT systems confidently
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
