Becoming a Commercial Manager A fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position as a Commercial Manager within the Education industry.
Reporting to the Director of Operations the Commercial Manager will be a key member of the Operations Leadership Team and will need to develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, funders and suppliers, to ensure there is commercial scrutiny of: supply chain and contract management, procurement and grant making decisions, external funding applications and income contracts and business processes and outsourcing arrangements.
What you’ll be doing: · Leading a small commercial team to deliver support to the business, enable continual improvement, development capability and contribute to our mission.
· Providing comprehensive commercial plans and reporting schedule including presentation of metrics and progress reports to leadership to ensure efficiency targets are met.
· Reviewing outsourced contracts and periodically assess and reassess the benefits of outsourcing verses bringing the services in house.
· Providing hands-on support for high value/risk, complex or strategic procurements and contract management issues to achieve commercial benefits, such as whole life cost reduction, quality improvement, risk management and social value benefits.
· Training buyers in good practice and build a culture of long-term value-for-money on procurement and delivery costs What we’re looking for: · Significant commercial expertise in areas including procurement, supplier management, and contract management, ideally from a public sector perspective· Experience of setting and managing targets and develop and implement strategies to achieve them.
· Qualification in procurement, legal, finance or commercial management· Demonstrable experience in shaping and implementing commercial strategy and policy, as well as associated procedures.
· Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders across the business to engage and challenge them on their commercial strategy.
