Robertson Bell are pleased to be working with this leading independent school whilst they recruit for a permanent Director of Finance and Operations.

Reporting into the Headteacher you will manage a team of five and be responsible for the overall running of the finance and some of the wider resources function.

Duties for this role will include: Work on the creation of board packs and lead ad hoc projects as directed by the senior leadership team.

Create and finalise the monthly management accounts, preparing high level narrative.

Review systems and processes and drive efficiency through relevant training.

Lead on the production of the statutory accounts and liaise with the Auditors.

Run the budgeting and forecasting process for the organisation.

Lead on the preparation and submission of VAT returns.

Liaise with external funders, legal partners and tax advisors.

Day to day accountability for the finance team, providing first class leadership to the team of two.

Oversee the management of premises, health and safety and catering.

This permanent Director of Finance and Operations role will manage the day-to-day financial operations whilst ensuring robust financial controls are in place.

Candidates with experience in the education sector are heavily encouraged to apply for this role however this is not an essential requirement.

The role would be based at the organisations head office in central London with regular office working required.

The successful candidate will: Be a fully qualified Accountant.

Have previously worked in a broad finance role covering both management and financial accounting.

Be a fantastic communicator.

Have previously managed a small team.

Have the confidence to liaise with non-financial stakeholders.
