Early Years Practitioner | Clevedon | Full Time | £9.42 per hour Our client firmly believe that children deserve the best start in life. The setting provides a stimulating and enabling environment for the children where learning is brought to life through in the moment planning. The team create rich learning environments, where children are at the heart of, and their learning is enhanced and encouraged. The setting provides a safe, nurturing environment and ensure that all the children are happy and comfortable within their surroundings. Your role will be to ensure the learning environment is a creative, fun, stimulating and safe place for the children to be in. As a key person you will ensure that each child is monitored, tracked and is receiving all the support to meet their needs. You will build strong relationships with all children and their families and have strong communication with them at all times. You will work 4/5 days a week, 8:30-6:00. Essential Qualifications GCSE in Mathematics and English. Level 3 childcare qualification or above. Understand Equality, diversity and how to be inclusive. Understand British Values and prevent duty guidance. Paediatric first aid, food hygiene and basic safeguarding (training can be provided if needed). Essential Skills, Abilities, and Experience At least 5 years’ experience in the Early Years sector. Experience in working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage. A confident understanding of the EYFS and Characteristics of effective learning. Ability to clearly communicate with parents, colleagues, outside professionals, and children. Ability to be part of a team as well as using your own initiative and make difficult decisions. Ability to be organised and manage the workload effectively. Ability to complete learning diaries to a high standard. Ability to use Makaton (In house training can be provided). Flexible approach to working hours. Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. You Role (not limited to) To create a stimulating and enabling environment for the children to be included in. To complete learning diaries to high standards along with observations, best fits, and yearly aged checks, ensuring that they are always up to date, taking them home to complete when necessary. To be confident with your designated roles across the nursery. To be aware of child tracking and know your key children that need additional support in any way. To provide support to all families within the Nursery. To have strong communication always with parents, children, staff, and other professionals. To participate in OFSTED inspections and partake in any activity or task they require. To always respect confidentiality and be sensitive to any situation. To ensure that any safeguarding issue is correctly and promptly reported to the management team and any other services if appropriate. To positively contribute to a secure nursery environment for children, parents, staff, and visitors. To be welcoming, supportive and encouraging to students that we have within the nursery and ensure they are included in our daily practice.
