Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer to support the delivery of engineering work as part of a team, working under the guidance of senior staff and within the wider context of the business.
You will develop and apply your engineering skills to take ownership of and manage multi-disciplined engineering tasks and responsibilities within time, cost, and quality constraints, in support of any reasonable request from internal departments within the whole of PCS as well as the ongoing technical support of external customers through to a successful conclusion.
An engineer at this level will have a good understanding of their own discipline, able to handle more complex problems and will apply their technical / professional knowledge and experience to make independent judgements and support decision making.

Key responsibilities:
Develop solutions and solve complex problems within own discipline. Work under minimal supervision to deliver allocated engineering tasks on-time, on-quality and on-budget. Provide on-the-job training/support to new team members. Writing reports and presenting work undertaken at peer and design reviews. Develop engineering competence under the guidance of more senior engineers, and plan for professional development. Demonstrate and adhere to the Ultra ASPIRE values at all times. Occasionally carry out duties off-site as required. Adhere to Ultra policies, procedures, and practices at all times. Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by management. Understand the requirements and needs of customers and strive to achieve common goals. Required Skills and Experience:
A good understanding of product development and the product lifecycle Ability to deal with customers and suppliers to achieve a common goal Ability to look at a products history, design and contractual obligations and make valid recommendations for change Knowledge of manufacturing and testing processes and procedures Knowledge of products used in Aerospace, Land and Ground Test Equipment Knowledge of PLM and ERP systems an advantage Knowledge of 2D/3D drawing packages an advantage Knowledge of Quality systems an advantage Knowledge of current legislation an advantage (REACH, RoSH, Weee, CE & UKCA marking etc) Relevant qualifications to an appropriate level, typically a Bachelor’s Degree, completion of a recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent experience within an Engineering discipline. Security Clearance:
Candidates must be able to achieve SC security clearance
