About the Role
Seeking to appoint a full-time Lead Speech & Language Therapist (Lead SLT) to join our established Multi-Disciplinary team.
As Lead SLT you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of effective Speech and Language Therapy services for vulnerable adults residing in community residential homes & hospitals, who present with learning disabilities and complex mental health needs.
* You will provide high standards of person centred care provided within Sequence Care Ltd. Utilising Speech and Language Therapy skills to effectively assess, treat and provide on-going evaluation and support of clients.
* You will help deliver training programmes to the MDT in order to ensure competency in working with patients who have communication and or swallowing difficulties.
* You will work as an autonomous professional according to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy ‘Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct’ and the ‘ Health Professions Council Regulations’.
About You
Demonstration of strong management qualities are essential, as is a dynamic and flexible approach to the role.
Must be driven, motivated and committed to providing industry leading care and service. Experience of the Adult Learning Disabilities & Mental Health sector is essential.
* You will have previous experience as an SLT in an adult LD or MH setting and knowledge of AAC, dysphagia and communication.
* You will have the ability to work autonomously across our services delivering client programmes and adhering to local and national professional standards whilst keeping the Lead SLT informed
* Part of your duties will involve explaining, modelling and supporting staff to carryover SALT goals, programmes and to follow advice, strategies and recommendations.
* You must be able to provide evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development and reflect and develop your own practice.
* You will be contributing towards the training of other staff.
* You will have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
* HCPC Registration is required
* You will be a Registered member of RCSLT
* Dysphagia management training – desirable.
* You must have knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication: low/high level, including Makaton signing
* Experience within social services is desirable.
