About the role



As part of RSM's national faculty of M&A Taxspecialists, you will work closely with a regional Transactions Tax Partner and makea significant contribution towards the overall future development and successof the Transactions Tax offering. You will have high levels of responsibilityalongside the satisfaction of managing a variety of interesting and challengingprojects across different industries. Operating closely with our brilliantCorporate Finance Department and utilising RSM's international network, youwill be at the forefront of Transactions Tax advisory work.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing M&A tax projects in accordance with the firm’s standard procedures and agreed arrangements with the client, including costs and billing logistics.
  • Acting as the main point of contact and managing client relationships, responding quickly to queries and internal teams.
  • Overseeing due diligence projects, leading on corporate tax and liaising withother specialist teams to deliver tax due diligence reports.
  • Delivering tax structuring advice pre- and post- transaction in order to provide taxefficient solutions for clients.
  • Researching and preparing proposals for new work, as well as taking part inpresentations to prospective clients.
  • Supporting in strategic targeting and business development activity, particularly in the private equity space, with the Transactions Tax Partner.
  • Maintaining an advanced level of technical knowledge through appropriatereading and courses, and fulfilling professional bodies’ CPD requirements.
  • Acting as a people manager including delegation and taking an active role in individuals’ training and career development via on-the-job coaching, delivering formal training, and carrying out requested feedback and career conversations. 
  • Briefing junior staff on the client’s business and the pre-assignmentinstructions, supervising and controlling the completion of work, and undertaking ‘on the job’ training and appraisals where necessary.
  • Actively promoting personal profile internally and externally, for example, by attending networking events, writing articles, hosting technical sessions and giving presentations on areas of specialisms to colleagues. 
  • Reviewing personal development and aspirations, and attending career conversations with line manager, ensuring strengths are being harnessed and a strong understanding of the training and support available is gained.
  • Carrying out any other duties asare within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role andits grading, as requested by the line manager, Head of Department or a Partner.
