Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Project Lead for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of £200-£230/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.Responsibilities:- Lead on applying and ensuring quality project management in the Service area(s) in order to support delivery. - Strong and effective working relationship with Senior Project Lead in order that they can substitute for them as and when needed. - Lead role in directing and providing high quality input to the development, scrutiny and maintenance of a wide range of project documentation including risk, planning, assurance and reporting. This includes specific lead role in:- Project plan production, maintenance and active management of milestones via Microsoft Project and Visio engaging with Senior Project Lead and Service areas. - Coordinating and drafting support for Business Cases, Strategy Documents, Funding Requests etc including broad stakeholder engagement and challenge across the Programme at all levels.- Lead role in routine Change Requests (CR), facilitating input and ensuring quality CRs across the Service area in line with Programme standards and processes. - Regular reviews and updates of Governance dashboards, seeking input from service teams and ensuring accurate and quality entries to all roadmaps and reports. - Management of RAID logs and ongoing engagement with Service teams to monitor, update and escalate (as necessary).- Providing subject matter expertise by providing guidance and challenge to service areas in maintaining Programme standards and procedures.- Lead role in helping Senior Project Lead to ensure Business Plan and Continuous Improvement aims for LPMST are updated and maintained to drive forward deliverables. - Supporting role in developing reporting dashboard, adding value to drive quality reporting. - Some financial management support. - Task management to a high quality, using initiative and adding value at all points to build trust and credibility in LPMST function. - Build and maintain strong, credible working relationships with Service area teams (particularly Service Managers, Product Owners and Leads), Programme Management Office colleagues and wider Programme. - Expert in PMO standards and good delivery knowledge of the relevant Service area. - Role in continuous improvement activity - Support internal communications and robust information management; - Line management responsibilities. Personal responsibility for performance and development, in line with delivering a quality project management service.Essential Skills:- Ability to drive and deliver quality work in a busy and fast paced environment, working independently using initiative to confidently deliver project management support. - Ability to build successful, professional relationships with colleagues, specialists, senior managers and leaders that leads to successful delivery.- Ability to prioritise tasks and activities, adding value at all points to meet deadlines.- Demonstrate where you have provided expertise, support and advice to colleagues across a range of business areas towards a common goal.Desirable Skills:- Confident user of Microsoft Project, with experience in developing MSP plans in collaboration with Delivery stakeholders and of subsequent maintenance of baselined MSP plans.- Confident user of Visio, PowerPoint and Excel.- Line management of staff in a busy business area.
