NRL are currently recruiting for a Permanant Project Manager to work for a provider of subsea technologies and services based in Cambridgeshire.

Role Purpose: The role deals with the management and execution of Renewables and Oil & Gas projects and requires liaison with all appropriate departments to facilitate this. The post is responsible for the planning and execution of design, procurement, manufacturing and testing activities, delivery of project documentation for customer review and delivery of the finished product and related documentation package within the agreed timeframe. In addition, the post is responsible for ensuring the project revenue projections are achieved and the project is delivered on time and within the expected budgetary costs, and the respective margins are maintained or improved upon. Commercial leadership for the project and direct liaison with customers is a key part of the role, including the management of variation orders, opportunities for variation orders and any other commercial changes. The role will also support the Tendering process pre-order as required by the Tendering Manager.
Main responsibilities of the role:
Acquire in depth knowledge of project contract scope and delivery requirements. Organise, plan and manage projects including management of project costs and preparation of internal and external reports. Take full leadership of all project contractual and commercial matters, liaising with Contracts department as required. Manage and delegate work to relevant project functions accordingly. Liaise fully with all appropriate departments to ensure timely output of information, product and documentation. Deputise for other Project team members as and when required. Facilitate the administration and production processes, where applicable, in order to ensure effective dovetailing between departments. Formulate good working relationships with customers. Take ownership of customer problems and action accordingly. Formulate contingency plan if problems arise and present to Senior Project Manager for discussion and action, liasing fully with them at all times. Raise relevant reports and documentation including reporting on project costs, margins, revenue projections and VO status and opportunities. Maintain contract files, orderly and chronologically. Management of project Risk Register. Support Tendering process pre-order as required by Senior Projects Manager and Tendering team. Line management of direct reports and other staff assigned to their team to ensure project requirements are met. Liaison with Service department to ensure continuity between the “supply” contract and “service” contracts is maintained with our customers. In addition to the above responsibilities, the role holder is required to undertake such duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attributes:
Essential
Must be organised, accurate and self-motivated.

Good time-management skills and able to prioritise work to ensure all the project requirements are met on time.
Proven background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering within the Offshore O&G / Renewables industry.
Must be very fluent with Microsoft word and excel packages and have good report writing skills.
Must have at least 5 years energy industry experience and project management experience.
Desirable
Knowledge of cable systems and related accessories would be an advantage.
A recognised qualification in Project Management (eg: APM, PRINCE2, etc) would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
Minimum HNC mechanical or electrical engineering.
