Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit an electrically biased Service & Commissioning Engineer. Our client manufactures chemical dosing equipment which is sold to the clean and waste water industry. Supplying to all the major water utility companies around the UK, within this role will be working approximately 70% of the time on customer’s sites and 30% of the time based in the workshop.
When on site you will be commissioning newly installed systems, training the client’s operators on new equipment, carrying out routine service and maintenance work, or attending breakdowns. You will also be attending CFATs at various control panel builders premises.
When in the workshop you will be involved with the internal inspection and testing of systems, along with CFATs, to ensure equipment leaves the workshop in a satisfactory state.
The ideal candidate will :
* be electrically biased (controls & automation experience essential) with some mechanical skills
* have an electrical trade qualification
* have an 18th Edition qualification (17 th Edition will be considered for the right candidate)
* have previous experience of working as a Service/Commissioning Engineer
* be experienced with Control Panels, both PLC driven and hard wired, the ability to use schematic drawings to diagnose and rectify faults is essential for this role
* be experienced with inverter drives (VSDs)
* be familiar with HMI systems; most equipment our client manufactures has a HMI screen which is used to set up and operate equipment.
* have previous experience working on municipal water/waste water treatment sites
* have a healthy respect for health and safety
* have a UK Driving License, and be happy to travel extensively within the UK to meet business needs
* be comfortable working autonomously
* be presentable and professional in a customer facing role
* be reliable and trustworthy
* have some basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as you will be completing various documents and reports as required
This role is permanent, it comes with either a company car or van, standard hours are 39 per week, 7am - 3.30pm Monday to Thursday, 6am - 1pm Friday, however given the nature of this role, hours may differ to suit business requirements. Overtime will be paid after 39 hours. This role will require nights away from home in pre-paid accommodation.
