Developing greenfield functionality and changes to major systems behind the brand, you contribute towards the future direction of the businesses technical estate whilst building innovative solutions. As the Software Developer, you will be a pivotal player in their product roadmap which is set to span at least 3 years. Completely revitalising the systems behind the UK energy industry, the Software Developer will contribute towards the modernisation of the entire application estate within an agile and data driven environment. Although the team generally operate in a full stack capacity, the main proportion of the product roadmap requires a talented .Net Developer who can tackle the most complicated technical problems. Creating greenfield systems in .Net, the Software Developer will be biased towards the back end but equally offered the opportunity to build front end solutions using Vue.js (training on offer if you have Vanilla JS or other framework knowledge). Collaborating with various teams across the business, you will be part of a digital community which are constantly evolving and constantly focusing on new ways to improve their customer experience. Based out of the businesses Manchester based HQ, the team work under a hybrid model with 2 / 3 days per week in the office and the rest remote. The Technical Stack: - C# / .Net 4.5 & .Net Core - SQL Server - RESTful APIs - Vue.js used as front-end JavaScript framework - Unit Testing & Dependency injection - Docker Of course, you’re not expected to have exposure to every area of their tech stack. Most of their product roadmap revolves around back-end C# / .Net so this role realistically is ideal for a back end biased developer who enjoys getting stuck into the wider stack. Key Responsibilities of the Software Developer: Develop greenfield functionality & features into a variety of systems & platforms which all link into the businesses core product.Support Lead Developers in the development of accurate roadmaps based on technical resource and functional complexityConstantly review and monitor new technology & methodologies for opportunities to improve the technical stack & workflow of the development teamMentor Junior Developers through their journey into tech, offering support on hands on development to training.Deliver projects under an agile approach (agile through and through!) The Ideal Candidate: Commercial experienced and knowledgeable across software development with a passion for back end .net. It’s a bonus if you have commercial experience in .Net Core but c# .Net 4.5 or above is fine as training is on offer for various frameworks.Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks with experience building front end experiences using Vue.js a bonus.Self-motivated person who enjoys the concept of building systems which will be used by millions of users across the UKCollaborative working style with the ability to form strong relationships with those around them This is a real chance for a talented Developer to make their mark!
