Sports Coach – ASD School – Reading
Simply Education is currently working with an ASD School in Reading that supports young people between the ages of 4 - 19 years.
They are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has a sports coaching background who can successfully support the young people across a variety of key stages.
As a Teaching Assistant will be responsible for delivering a high quality of teaching and learning to a group of students aged 4 -11 years with ASD.
Students may present complex behaviours typically associated with autism.
Key duties:
-To support and contribute to the delivery and development of the national curriculum and having a regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
-Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
-Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each- individual.
-A passion for based activities.
This school takes a child-centred approach to learning, working with each individual student to understand their current needs and interests, and developing an education plan that suits them best.
All students have an EHCP in place, and you will work with teachers to support students to build on their prior knowledge and plug any gaps in their learning.
The ideal Teaching Assistant Sports Coach for this role will have experience working with young people, be comfortable contributing to the school and classroom values and ethos and be committed to supporting students with social emotional and mental health needs.
You will have excellent communication skills, be adaptable and flexible, and have a passion for helping young people to achieve their full potential.
