VMA GROUP have partnered with FEBS (Federation of European Biochemistry Societies) to support the hiring of a Strategic Marketing Manager to join their team.
In support of FEBS 2024-2028 strategic priorities, the Strategic Marketing Manager will promote the work of the organisation, increasing awareness of FEBS events, programs, and support the diversification of income by identifying new revenue streams.
The Federation of the European Biochemical Societies is one of Europe’s largest organizations in the molecular life sciences, with over 30,000 members across 39 biochemistry and molecular biology societies in different countries of Europe and neighbouring regions.
As a grass-roots organization, FEBS provides a voice to a large part of the academic research and teaching community in Europe and beyond.
As a charitable academic organization, FEBS promotes and supports biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, molecular biophysics and related research areas through its journals, Congress, Advanced Courses, Fellowships and other initiatives.
This position is remote (Europe)
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Develop and deliver a marketing strategy aligned with FEBS strategic priorities, increasing awareness of the organisation, events and programs to maximise revenue
Support the promotion of FEBS events, increasing revenue streams through sponsorship and advertising opportunities
Develop, manage and implement sponsorship and advertising across events, journals, publications and workshops, generating and diversifying revenues for FEBS
Develop a marketing/communications strategy to increase FEBS visibility across key audiences within the scientific community, including scientists and scientific organisations
Manage partnerships and relationships with key external stakeholders, including biotechnological companies and scientific organisations
Key Skills and Experience Required:
A strategic marketer, with proven experience of developing, managing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns
Experience across multiple marketing channels, including both online and offline
Experience of developing and managing sponsorship and advertising agreements
Strategic mindset and proven ability of raising a brand’s awareness
Experienced in delivering a marketing plan to increase revenue and target new income streams
Experience of working with / for international non-profit scientific organisations and scientific institutions, or similar (advantage)
