I'm supporting one of my clients within the Financial Services sector that are looking to secure a talented Contract Technical Writer to produce high quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of some key products.
Key information
Role: Technical Writer
Location: Tyne and Wear (North East England)
Rate: £375 per day
Contract Length: 3 months
Start Date: ASAP
Working Arrangements: Initially you will need to be in the office or certain days to meet the team and have training on the tech they are using. After that they will be happy to have people working more remotely with just an occasional trip to the office.
Role summary
You will work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements in order to produce high quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. You will write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides, create tutorials to help end-users, use a variety of applications, analyse existing & potential content focusing on reuse & single-sourcing opportunities and create & maintain the information architecture.
Skills & experience needed
Proven work experience in technical writing of software documentation
Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
Excellent written skills in English
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
