On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher who will be responsible for a year two class in an outstanding school in Stockport. This position will commence September 2021 and will run for an academic year with the potential to be made permanent depending on your success in the role. The successful applicant will have proven success achieving rapid progress in a key stage one setting and be a fantastic team player who will wholeheartedly contribute to every aspect at school life.
About the School
This is a one form entry school that provides a broad, balanced curriculum where children are placed at the heart. Lessons are carefully planned to ensure children are well equipped with the skills and knowledge to be successful citizens of the future. In addition to the delivery of core subjects, children learn all other topics through an international approach to learning and form worldwide links with meaning and purpose. Staff work collaboratively to achieve desired outcomes and after visiting this school, it is evident that children enjoy school life and achieve well.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the progress and attainment of approximately 30 pupils in a mixed ability class. You will be expected to differentiate learning to both scaffold and stretch learners and implement effective strategies to support SEN/EAL learners. You will also be joined by a full-time TA who is very familiar with the curriculum and will deliver regular interventions across the core subjects to support pupils not meeting age related expectations.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Create engaging lessons that align with National Curriculum standards and support the creative curriculum delivered by the school
Plan targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy and report progress to the SENDCo to evaluate the effectiveness in relation to targets set
Keep up-to-date records of data and analyse where and what to reteach to bridge gaps in learning and raise levels of attainment
Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect
Work effectively as a team player with the Year 2 teacher, key stage and wider staff to share advice, resources and best practice
Contribute to the extra-curricular programme and school events in the wider community.
-QTS (Or an equivalent teaching qualification)
-Excellent references to support previous experience (ideally in a Year 2 class)
-A CV that covers the last 10 years employment history with any CV gaps explained
-The right to work in the UK
