THE ROLE

BBC Studios Data and Insights team are looking for a Data Analyst to join a growing department and deliver reporting and insights on BBC Studios’ social media content. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help inform the strategy of BBC Studios’ social media brands, including: BBC Earth, Top Gear, Doctor Who, and Bluey. Working with data across multiple social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and Snapchat, you will turn data into actionable information for the business. If you like social media, the content the BBC produces, and are confident working with data, then this is the role for you!

What will the job involve?

  • Turning raw data into impactful and easy to understand reports and visualisations, and then presenting these reports to stakeholders.
  • Streamlining existing reports and the way they are produced.
  • Supporting colleagues in our Social AVOD business and the wider strategy behind BBC Studios’ social media offering

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

Key Criteria

  • Numerate, data-driven, and confident in presenting to others.
  • The role will work heavily with 1st and 3rd party social media tools, as well as social listening tools. Experience in using these would be desirable.
  • You will be skilled in the use of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in using data visualisation tools such as Tableau.
  • The role is suitable for someone with experience in a reporting one with experience in a reporting role, or in a business with a focus on data.

Desirable

  • Experience in using Python and SQL.
  • Previous experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • You will have an interest in social media, and the television industry as a whole.

  • Salary: £32,000 + London Weighting (£5,164) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
  • Contract type: FTC 12 Months
  • Location: Office Base is London, this is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
