This is a great opportunity for an Operational Risk Manager to join the risk management and internal audit team on a 12-month fixed term contract to further develop your understanding and experience of strategic, operational, programme and project risk management within a supportive and collaborative environment, whilst playing a key role in our mission to maintain patient safety and public confidence in dental services.

As Operational Risk Manager, reporting to the Head of Risk Management and Internal Audit, you will:

  • Manage the updating of Operational Risk Registers.
  • Manage the process for reviewing and providing feedback on the Project/Programme level Risk Registers.
  • Lead on risk review and quality assurance processes.
  • Provide support in managing the processes for developing the operational, risk management function and mitigating exposure to risk by ensuring that control frameworks and assurances stated on risk registers are complete and accurate.
  • Provide Risk Management framework and software training.
  • Lead on tracking progress of the implementation status of approved internal audit recommendations to ensure the recommended control frameworks are in place.
  • Produce reports to the Executive Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee and other governing forums to aid key decision making.
  • Assist the Head of Function in producing assurance gap analysis used for developing our Internal Audit Plan, split between in-house, independent and specialist Internal Audits.

About You

The Ideal candidate will have proven experience in:

  • Understanding strategic, operational, programme and project risk management.
  • Evidencing your ability to develop, embed and manage high quality processes and procedures.
  • Facilitating communication across teams and between individuals, including influencing at a senior level with confidence and credibility.
  • Planning and organisation skills.

Ideally, you will be MoR or Prince 2 qualified, and at least working towards a professional qualification in internal audit, however this is desirable.
