You’re hands-on and practical, and a skilled user of a wide range of hand and electric tools. You’re interested in carpentry, construction, mechanical engineering and electronics, and keen to develop your skills in all these areas. You’ve got a great understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace and enjoy a job with all kinds of variety. So, what more could you be doing with your career?

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings, courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech, and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we're on. In our world, it all matters.

Designing and building brand-new embassies in bustling cities and remote locations. Collaborating with architects, engineers and surveyors to design and reconfigure a high commission’s office space. Developing a secure site’s new CCTV System. Working with our Property and Construction team is as varied and as vital as it gets. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.

Join a team with global impact.

When you join us in this role, you’ll be a key member of a Production team that enables high-level classified conversations to take place in locations around the world. You’ll achieve this by working on the quality assurance and packing of secure conference rooms prior to their shipment in kit form to our global customers. We’ll give you all the training you need to check the dimensions of components, maintain packing lists and prepare everything prior to dispatch. You’ll also offer general support to the team by helping to move goods in and out, and by working in our workshops at busy times.

Keep your professional development on track

You’ll have a range of additional responsibilities – these include helping to maintain stock levels so they match demand, checking that the components delivered from external suppliers meet our strict quality standards, and ensuring goods can move quickly and safely around our warehouses and workshops. We’ll also expect you to keep your own professional development up to speed and take up any opportunities you’re offered to gain further skills and qualifications.

Use your organisational skills to support UK’s national security interests

With strong organisational and planning skills, and the ability to deliver at pace in a fast-moving environment, you’ll have a Level 2 qualification in production, manufacturing or logistics, or equivalent practical knowledge of these disciplines. It’s important that you have a good understanding of high-risk manual handling and be capable of interpreting technical documents. Experience of using powered access vehicles and wood working machinery would be desirable, but if you don’t have this, we will provide you with all the necessary training.

Grow your career in the biggest way possible

Working with us you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of; and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
