Salary: Up to £31,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Social Media Coordinator to join our social media team, within the BBC's Children’s and Education department. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of social media knowledge and know to engage a tween audience on vertical platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

This role will be primarily promoting CBeebies brands, Bitesize for Parents and BBC Teach to an audience on social media, using bespoke and commissioned social content to bring our programming and wider campaigns to new, underserved audiences and existing fans. This could also extend to working across our Newsround social accounts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Producing innovative, engaging content across our social media channels, ensuring all posts are aligned with our brand tone of voice and values as well as being high impact social content.
  • Keeping abreast and sharing insight of the latest social media trends, platforms and influencers. Sharing this insight with the team and through ideas.
  • Editing video and image content for social media platforms, mainly Instagram and TikTok
  • Collaborating with other teams to produce content and support TV shows and campaigns

Are you the right candidate?

  • We’re looking for someone who lives and breathes social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok, keeping abreast of the latest trends, sounds and influencers
  • A content creator who can generate stand-out, social-first ideas that make our audience take action and engage
  • A self-starter who can come up with unique ideas, shoot content and produce first class assets using software such as Adobe Premiere and PhotoShop, along with in-app editing skills
  • A team player who wants to get stuck in, share knowledge and ideas and take on a wealth of exciting projects and campaigns
