Wood is recruiting for a Support Services Administrative Assistant to join the team in Hull on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Reports to - Support Services Manager Main Purpose of Job: Provides administrative and office support, to facilitate the efficient operation of gas storage sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide efficient and effective administration and office support to the site teams.
  • Undertake other administrative duties as required by your line Manager or the Gas storage Leadership Team
  • Decision Making Authority

    Outline the most important decisions typically expected to be taken.

  • Prioritization of tasks to ensure deadlines and objectives are met.
  • Which issues to escalate to line manager for consideration and when?
  • Outline the most important recommendations expected to be made for others to decide on

  • Identify and suggest potential improvements to task or processes.
  • Recommend solutions to resolve issues which are referred to manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    Business Knowledge:

  • Awareness of SSE’s activities and objectives
  • Knowledge of relevant company procedures and systems, specifically for finance, IT, personnel, and training
  • Essential Functional / Technical Skills:

  • Experience of providing administrative support to a business.
  • 5 or more A-C grade GCSE’s
  • Knowledge of business and technical English, punctuation, and spelling
  • Knowledge of IT program's including
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.
  • Finance IT systems.
  • Good administrative, oral, and written communication skills
