Architectural Technologist in Chelmsford

An expanding architectural practice in Chelmsford are looking to recruit an Architectural Technologist with a good knowledge of UK building regulations. The company work primarily on delivering large scale residential and development projects. Working in a team of architects, urban designers and technicians the Architectural Technologist will work on housing projects for national and regional housebuilders. Candidates must have experience working in a similar role on UK housing projects.Duties:Preparation of working drawingsDetailing technical solutions, materials and building techniques - suited to residential properties.You will be primarily responsible for the detailed design, supporting project teams on a number of projects - taking responsibility for construction detailing. Be involved in the production of comprehensive drawing packages.Have the ability to effectively communicate at all levelsPlan time and prioritise work in order to deliver high detailed drawing information to meet agreed deadlines.Continuing Professional Development in relation to all aspects of Construction and Computer Aided Design.Continual development and monitoring of current standard details.Skills & Experience:Excellent AutoCAD skills are a mustCIAT membership would be idealDegree level or HNC in Construction in the Built Environment or similarPost qualification practice experience in the UK is essentialExperience of working with large residential developersA good understanding of the principles and techniques used in residential property developmentThe ability to prepare detailed construction drawing packages as well as to provide original solutions to technical problemsGood knowledge of the UK building standards (Planning, Building Regulations, HQI, etc)Benefits:Hybrid - 4 days in the office 1 day at homeSalary depending on level of experience plus a performance related bonus scheme.Pension and Private health care.Payment of key professional subscription fees.Career progression Candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible to apply for this vacancy.Call Julia @ prime appointments if you would like to discuss this role further
