Assistant Quantity SurveyorPermanentLocation: AyrSalary: £negotiable DOERef: GR1380Gibson Recruitment LimitedYour new company & role:An established Building & Civil Engineering contractor who, due to a period of sustained growth, have a requirement for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding business who can offer real career progression opportunities and have a demonstrable track record of promoting from within.Working with the established team of experienced Quantity Surveyors, the successful candidate could be expected to fulfil the following duties: * Assisting on Sub-Contract agreements maximising profit * Attending, contributing to, and minuting Internal Team Meetings * Keeping master files of correspondence on contract * Preparing Interim Valuations with Senior Surveyor and agreeing amounts for payment. * Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract variations * Valuing variations * Pricing * Reporting to Senior Surveyor on job performance via cost/value comparisons * Preparing Surveying ReportsThe successful candidate will possess: * BSc Quantity Surveying, or equivalent (or working towards achieving) * Relevant industry experience (ideally) * Good analytical & problem-solving skills * A methodical approach * Excellent numeracy skills * Ability to work on own initiative. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Proficient in relevant computer programmes (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)What to Do Now:Please apply now with your most up to date CV or call Graeme on the details below for more information.If this role is not for you but you would like to have a conversation regarding your next career move, do not hesitate to give us a call, in confidence
