If so, we would like to hear from you today!The post holder will ideally have previous NHS experience in all areas of obstetrics. Specialist ultrasound is desirable but not essential. They must be able to demonstrate initiative and prioritise a complex workload whilst working both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a team.High levels of both written and oral communication are essential to this post with the ability to deliver or discuss difficult diagnosis and prognosis with tact, empathy, managing distressed or aggressive patients or carers/relatives. The post holder must be able to communicate accurate and sensitive information to patients, carers, and relatives as well as within their own team & colleagues.The postholder will manage their own caseload of patients and provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, triage, and management/treatment of patients whilst maintaining the associated records. The right applicant will be able to work efficiently and effectively as both an autonomous practitioner and as part of a wider MDT with use of their own initiative to readjust and amend plans as per the patient’s needs. The postholder will be expected to deliver programmes of supported patient rehabilitation, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimise individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfilment of personal goals and independence.Role Details: * To undertake a range of ultrasound examinations in line with local, regional and national guidelines. * To provide a full ultrasound scanning and reporting service. Use analytical and judgmental skills to provide interpretation of ultrasound images in order to provide independent written examination reports over a wide range of obstetric, gynaecological, early pregnancy and general medicine ultrasound examinations. * To participate in the provision of emergency department based ultrasound. * To assess the suitability of examination referrals and prioritise them according to clinical urgency. To possess the ability to advise clinical referrers on the appropriateness and quality of requests. * To practice unsupervised, providing an independent diagnostic report and to communicate scan findings to referring clinician. To make clinical assessments as to whether additional imaging required to aid a diagnosis. * Have a high degree of personal and professional autonomy. Have the ability to make clinical judgments and critical decisions of the highest order, using knowledge, skills and experience. * To provide high standards of patient care in a safe, clean and tidy working environment, observing all Trust and departmental policies and to maintain professional and personalThe Successful Candidate Will: * Hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (PgCert, PgDip or Direct-Entry Masters). * Be HCPC/NMC registered * Have previous NHS experience * Experience in specialist ultrasound is desirable * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, is essential. * Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelinesWho are NHS Professionals?If a hospital cannot supply staff on a ward or area, due to increased demand, sickness, or common staff shortages, they need to call upon Bank staff.
