Background

  • Bambino Mio Ltd (BM) was created in 1997 by husband-and-wife team Guy and Jo Schanschieff as a purpose driven business converting parents to the important mission of using more reusable nappies.
  • ‘We have made nappies that are better for babies, parents, and our planet. Now, we are leading a Re-Usable Revolution to free the world of single-use nappies, once and for all. We are fighting on behalf of the smallest of us to stop adding to the mess they might have to clean up in the future.’
  • The benefits of Bambino Mio derive from this core purpose - from product quality, design and functionality to tangible savings over the cycle of usage of up to £700.
  • Bambino Mio has created the market for reusable nappies, championing the cause, lobbying for its benefits, and raising awareness of the issues caused to the environment by traditional products.
  • The business has always been committed to purpose led pragmatic growth and created a culture that reflects its core values. (Caring. Courageous. Committed. Customer Focussed. Collaborative. )
  • The business has been awarded B Corp Status, has won 2 Queens Awards for Enterprise (International Trade and Sustainability), featured in the Sunday Times 100 fastest growing companies and was No 25 in Sunday Times Fastest Growing Exports as well as winning over100 consumer awards
  • The business has three core products – reusable nappies, training pants and swim pants with additional associated products. The company has three channels. Retail, (it has sold in 50 countries with its largest market Germany followed by UK) Amazon, (UK and overseas), and its own eCommerce platform.
  • A strategic review in June 2023 led to a re-launch of product, packaging, design, and website. In addition, the business created and outsourced operation in Holland to manage non-UK business and outsourced its fulfilment and logistics.
