We are llooking to hire a Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Technician - East Region to be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, trouble shooting, repairing, installing, modifying, and upgrading a range of electrical/electronic controls, and instrumentation systems across a range of site-based power generation plants Role and Responsibilities:Conducting fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and reactive maintenance activities on a range of operational C&I Assets to ensure the safe and efficient operation of sitesThis includes a range of Instrumentation, (Flow, Pressure, Level and Temperature Sensors), along with Gas Analysers, PLC Systems, HMI's & Telemetry SystemsSupport the servicing of Fire & Gas Detection and Safety SystemsUndertake preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance works to meet plant reliability and performance targetsSupporting the roll out of DSEAR remedial works / periodic inspectionsLiaison with Electrical, C&I, Gas Field, or Engine Technicians from other operational teams, working to assist each other in resolving issues and sharing informationSupervising and directing Approved Contractors on site who may be attending for the install, repair, or maintenance of Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or Automation SystemsProducing reports and data input into Maximo and other IT based systemsTaking responsibility of your own PPE, Vehicle, plus other Tools, and equipment issued, along with supporting maintaining the Regional C&I WorkshopEnsuring all works are carried out in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures Skills and Qualifications:AElectrical Technician Apprenticeship, or a City & Guilds, ONC, BTEC / NVQ recognised qualification, in Electrical, or Controls / Instrumentation EngineeringIET 18th Edition Wiring Reg's, City & Guilds 2382Electrical generation, water utilities, heavy process, or manufacturing experienceCompEx Foundation, or CompEx 01 to 04Knowledge of Emergency Shutdown / Safety Systems, Machinery or Process relatedKnowledge of IT Networks & PC based systemsFull UK Driving LicensceControls, Instrumentation & AutomationLV Electrical Control Panels and safe electrical isolation proceduresElectrical Schematics & Process & Instrumentation DiagramsMaintenance & Calibration of a range of InstrumentationFault finding on LV Control Circuits and Instrument LoopsFault finding and diagnostic skills with an understanding of PID ControlsAbility to produce written maintenance and daily work reportsPLC programming, including Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider, or SiemensExperience of interrogating, fault finding and maintenance of HMI, SCADA, PLC & Telemetry SystemsCommunication Networks, Converters & Protocols, including Ethernet, CAN-Bus, Profibus, RS232/485 Serial, Fiber Optics
