400kv Substation Commissioning Engineer - Dundee, Scotland - £Excellent Day Rate - 4 Month Contract + Potential Extensions - August Start Date

Have you got experience commissioning 400kv substation protection systems (transformers, feeder protection etc.)? Are you looking to commission a HV substation with the ability to gain high level SSEN authorisations? If so, please read on...

Responsibilities:

Lead the commissioning activities for transformers, feeder protection, and quad boosters within 400kV substations.
Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of protection relays, transformers, quad boosters, and associated control systems.
Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team of commissioning engineers, ensuring all activities meet project specifications and industry standards.
Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during the commissioning phase, working closely with engineering teams and contractors.
Prepare detailed commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and commissioning records.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and adherence to project timelines.
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and client requirements.

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in commissioning protection and control systems in high-voltage substation projects, with a focus on 400kV systems.
Strong proficiency in commissioning transformers, feeder protection systems, and quad boosters.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
SSEN CAT 1-3 authorisations preferable.
Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
