This newly created role of Credit Risk Analyst reports directly to the Chief Risk and Information Officer, providing an exciting opportunity to shape the credit risk framework for a fast-growing organisation.

The role is critical as they seek to strengthen their analytic capabilities and develop data-led decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop credit risk management strategies, including manual verification rules for the underwriting team.
  • Perform analysis on data gathered from Credit Reference Agencies and other sources to design and develop innovative credit approval processes.
  • Monitor decision engine performance to ensure rules, product limits, credit score cut-offs, and affordability assessments are appropriate and effective.
  • Operate a robust test-and-learn approach, developing tests based on data-driven evidence and monitoring performance.
  • Undertake specialised analysis in scorecard development, modelling, profiling/segmentation, and forecasting to ensure lending aligns with Credit Risk Policy and the business’s risk appetite.
  • Code, test, and implement approved changes to credit decisioning systems, maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • Provide support and advice regarding business insight and analytical trends.
  • Investigate issues, identify trends, and develop appropriate solutions to improve customer outcomes and business performance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience developing credit risk strategies and managing information within financial services (ideally Consumer Credit).
  • Excellent analytical and numeric skills.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, VBA, and Python.
  • Proven ability to analyse and present data in a Credit Risk role.
  • Knowledge of Credit Reference Agency data and reporting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to deliver accurate results to high standards within tight deadlines.
