The Role

Perenco is looking for a Development Geologist to join the Geoscience department in London. The successful candidate will work closely with other geoscientists to generate drilling opportunities and provide geological expertise on field development.

They will have considerable freedom to act without excessive supervision and have the opportunity to acquire new skills through on the job learning, with specific formal training courses available where required.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality geological input to projects, focusing primarily on development acreage.
  • Liaise, communicate, and integrate all geological work with other disciplines.
  • As a generalist, apply and administer all necessary and standard geological techniques and methods including sedimentology, well correlations, log analysis, sequence stratigraphy,
  • property mapping and geological model building.
  • Coordinate and supervise specialized geological projects conducted by third parties (e.g. biostratigraphy, sedimentology, geochemical analysis, log processing and analysis).
  • Recommend and design new well structures whilst providing operational geology support throughout drilling activities.
  • Thoroughly report and document all work undertaken, ensuring detailed and accurate records of activities, findings, and data.
  • Liaise with technical partners and experts, presenting results during workshops and Technical Committee Meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc & MSc in Geology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
  • Proficient with various industry software packages including Petrel.
  • Collaborative and team oriented.
  • Highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of petrophysics and West Africa is a plus.
