Electronics Technician in Nevendon

Our client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of handheld testing products and are looking to recruit an Electronics Technician to join their long-established family run business based in Basildon. Ideally you will have some "hands on" experience in the manufacture of electronic products to act as the link between R&D and workshop.Duties: The Electronics Technician will produce and test electronic parts and sub-assemblies including PCB Assembly requiring soldering and crimping to IPC standardsTesting using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-metersComplete final assembly of systemsCreate new and update build instructions to latest specificationPerform calibration, final test and documentation Repair of electronic systems to component levelWork from drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, repair, modify, rework or re-assemble units.Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity Provide technical support in house and to customers Skills & QualificationsBTEC level qualification in Electronic Engineering or higher is a mustSome experience in Surface mount soldering with knowledge of analogue and digital circuits preferableKnowledge of PCB electronic component fault diagnosis techniques down to component level desirableCrimping, soldering and rework skills Must have good written and verbal communication skills with a basic understanding of IT and an interest in developing these skills Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a methodical way and be willing to lend a hand with other duties Benefits: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience28 days holiday including bank holidays 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexible hours working between 8am and 6pm)Company performance bonus schemeCompany pension schemeOpportunity for progression within the company Candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible to apply for this vacancy.Call Julia @ prime appointments if you would like to discuss this role further
