What will you do?

Watershed is looking for a Senior Employment Lawyer who can handle the following responsibilities:

  • Helping to grow and develop our services in employment law, maximising opportunities and developing long-term, fruitful relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Advising daily on a wide range of both routine and complex matters, that can be contentious or non-contentious, covering all aspects of employment law.
  • Representing clients at the employment tribunal and the employment appeal tribunal, including carrying out any advocacy.
  • Helping clients transform their business by advising on, and often participating in, complex collective redundancies, collective bargaining, large-scale changes to terms and conditions, and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) transfers.
  • Working on and managing a range of clients' projects and dealing with their day-to-day employment matters.
  • Building and sustaining relationships, developing new accounts, and providing innovative solutions, while offering clients innovative ideas about employment law services technology, approaches, and methodology.

What do you offer?

As an Employment Solicitor, you will have previously navigated the entire spectrum of employment law, addressing challenges such as unfair dismissal claims, discrimination issues, whistle-blowing, TUPE, Employment Tribunal litigation, settlement agreements, redundancy matters, general advisory, and providing counsel on employee exits.

You have excellent:

  • employment law knowledge
  • verbal and written communication skills
  • customer service focus
  • time management skills and able to prioritise effectively
  • attention to detail and ability to produce work with precision
  • IT literacy and experience using case management software
  • ability to work unsupervised and use your initiative, even when under pressure
  • problem solving skills.

You are able to:

  • type 50 words per minute with accuracy
  • demonstrate a passion for client service excellence
  • deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with team members the firms’ employees and other solicitors
  • work well under pressure within stipulated timescales and meet deadlines.
