Our school is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Job Overview:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our team in Ipswich, Suffolk. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons tailored to meet the specific needs of students with SEMH challenges. The role involves fostering a love of literature, language, and communication while providing differentiated instruction and support to help students overcome barriers to learning.Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with SEMH needs, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies and resources. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to participate actively in their learning. Develop personalized learning plans and interventions to support students' social, emotional, and academic progress, working closely with support staff and external agencies as needed. Foster a love of reading, writing, and communication through the exploration of diverse texts, genres, and creative activities. Provide constructive feedback and assessment to students, supporting them in setting and achieving academic and personal goals. Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives that promote literacy skills, social-emotional learning, and well-being. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behaviour, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures. Participate in regular team meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the wider life of the school community.Requirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Specialism or significant experience in teaching English at the secondary level. Understanding of SEMH issues and their impact on learning and behaviour. Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
