Field Engineer - Cambridgeshire - Scientific instrumentation - £40,000 - £50,000 A client of nGeniums are seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Engineer to join thier team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrably strong experience supporting scientific instrumentation in field environments, preferably internationally. You will bring at least three years of experience in the industry post-graduation. This role involves extensive travel, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in various field environments. If you are passionate about applying your engineering skills in a hands-on setting and thrive in diverse work settings, this opportunity is for you.This role will be based out of our laboratories in Cambridge.Responsibilities:Conduct on-site assessments and inspections of systems and equipmentCollaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and objectivesProvide technical support and troubleshooting expertise (electronic, software and mechanical systems) during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activitiesPerform field tests and experiments to validate design performance and functionalityPrepare detailed reports, documentation, and drawings to communicate findings and recommendations effectivelyLiaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction, to coordinate project activities and resolve technical issuesDevelop field engineering processes and methodologies to optimise the efficiency and quality of deliverablesWork to appropriate guidelines and legislation as necessaryPotential to develop their own team of support personnel.   Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in an engineering, geology, geophysics or relevant experimental physics experience discipline.Minimum of three years of relevant experience preferably in a field-based roleWillingness  and ability to travel extensively to project sites, both domestically and internationally (including long-haul), as requiredEffective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiencesAdaptability to work independently or as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven attitudeExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure in diverse field environmentsExperience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experienceOpportunities for professional development and career advancementTravel allowances and accommodations provided for field assignmentsCollaborative and inclusive work culture with a focus on employee well-being and work-life balanceFlexible working hoursGym membership at local onsite facility
