Finance Manager
Are you a hands-on and commercially focussed Finance Manager seeking an exciting opportunity in the FMCG space?
Do you have experience as a finance professional with a retail, supply chain, or manufacturing industry background operating in an SME environment?
Are you a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with the ability to inspire and lead a small and talented team of finance professionals?
MacGregor Black is currently partnered with a superb FMCG business , on the search for a commercially astute Finance Manager .
This is a permanent role based in the Leicester area.
As the Finance Manager you will act as the finance number 2 in the business, reporting directly into the Head of Finance, whilst also supporting a team of 3 transactional finance professionals.
This is a multi-faceted and dynamic role that will afford you fantastic exposure to all aspects of the financial workings of the business across retail, manufacturing and supply chain.
Key accountabilities
- Support the Head of Finance in the achievement of Finance Department goals
- Support and develop the strategic business decision making process
- Manage the monthly management accounts cycle
- Enhance and embed improved month-end process
- Verify and reconcile accuracy of the monthly balance sheet
- Analysing variances and providing insights to support commercial decisions
- Collaborating with sales and merchandising teams to enhance business performance
- Managing the year-end stock take process and audit
- Coordinating annual budgets and reforecasts
- Analysing variances and contributing to board packs
- Reviewing VAT and sales tax processes.
- Working with insurance brokers to ensure appropriate insurance coverage.
- Overseeing stock count process and reporting
- Ensuring integrity of stock values and cost prices
- Providing day-to-day support and management of the team
- Supporting team members in process improvement.
What are we looking for?
- CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified
- Prior experience in Finance Manager role or strong exposure to the requirements of the role including management accounts and running month end-processes
- Experience operating in an SME FMCG environment
- Retail/Manufacturing/Supply Chain industry background
- Self-starter, ability to work under own initiative
- Adaptable to change and proactive in identifying and implementing process efficiencies
- Ability to manage and develop a small team
- Ability to partner with non-finance functions effectively
- Advanced Excel skills
