The Accountancy and Finance Division at The ONE Group is delighted to be working with a branded retail business in Northampton to assist them in hiring a Finance Manager. As the Finance Manager, you will be proficient in technical financial accounting, supporting the Senior Finance Manager in delivering financial reporting services for the UK business. You will handle complex P&L and Balance Sheet elements, ensuring strong financial controls. This role involves performance analysis, accurate reporting, and managing a team of two direct reports.
As the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:nTeam Leadership: Lead a team of PQ 2 accountants, preparing accurate monthly and annual reports.nMonth-End Reporting: Consolidate financial performance for the UK group.nTechnical Reporting: Deliver reports on liabilities, revenue recognition, and IFRS16 lease accounting.nPerformance Analysis: Analyse P&L and Balance Sheet variances to support financial performance insights.nAudit Contribution: Prepare financial statements for annual audits, ensuring compliance with UK standards and IFRS.nTechnical Updates: Stay updated with financial developments and manage their adoption.nFinancial Controls: Enhance controls and processes impacting the P&L and Balance Sheet.nGroup Reporting: Ensure timely submission of mandatory group reports.nRegulatory Compliance: Oversee reconciliations and reporting for UK regulatory returns.nInternal Control: Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled regularly and address internal audit actions promptly.nCollaboration: Build relationships across the business, balancing UK and global finance interests.nTeam Development: Invest in team development and engagement.
As the Finance Manager, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:nACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 2+ years of post-qualification experience, primarily in IFRSnHighly commercial with the ability to challenge across the businessnAdvanced expertise with Excel (including interactive Excel and macros) and experience with SAP and Navision preferred but not essentialnStrong strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organisational, and communication skillsnThrives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing and growing business
