Job description
Finance Officer
Morgan Hunt is working with a College in South London who are looking at recruiting a Finance Officer . This is a 3-6 month contract role paying up to £19 p/hour.
Reporting to the Head of Finance & Payroll, the role involves overseeing daily treasury, banking, and income generation tasks, including invoicing for tuition fees, local authorities, and other debtors.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Officer:
Manage College bank accounts, conduct daily reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure banking software integrates with accounting systems.Prepare daily cashflow forecasts, communicate financing needs to managers, and manage SLC student loans.Oversee invoicing processes, monitor tuition fee collections, and manage debt recovery procedures.Conduct monthly audit checks on tuition fees, report discrepancies, and manage debt recovery across all income streams.Provide support and advice on cash transactions to college staff, manage student and local authority debts, and arrange payment plans for students in financial difficulty.Perform credit control tasks, reconcile bank accounts, forecast year-end income, assist with management accounts, accounts payable duties, and provide banking support during enrolment.Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Officer:
Fully qualified AAT minimum.Analysing financial data and preparing reports using PC spreadsheet and word-processing packages.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Previous experience in the Public sector or education environment.Enhanced DBS is ideal.Interviews and start date ASAP so please apply NOW if interested on send your CV directly
