This pivotal role is based in Harrow and offers a rewarding salary of £60,000 - £65,000, reflecting the critical nature and expertise required for this position.

About the Role:

As a Financial Controller, you will take charge of the overall financial management of the organisation, playing a key role in financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting.

Your expertise will support the continued growth and financial health of our client’s operations, ensuring that they can provide the best care possible to their residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
• Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
• stablish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system).
• Analyze and report on financial performance, participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and manage financial systems/models.
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
• Monitor cash flows and predict future trends.
• Develop relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organizations (e.g., the Inland Revenue).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
