The Role
We are looking for a product-minded, inquisitive and inventive Android Lead with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end applications or features. You should have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and a sense of empathy for the customer.
The ideal candidate is excited about the opportunity to help shape the future of digital ski coaching and enjoys working collaboratively with internal and external experts to reinvent how people learn to ski. At Carv, you will
- Lead the architecture and development of end-to-end features
- Manage the release lifecycle of the Android app
- Promote good practices and processes within the Software and Data Science teams
- Work closely with Product Management to scope and refine features
Role Requirements
- 5+ years software development experience
- Strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose skills
- Experience managing the release process of Android apps including QA, CI/CD and stakeholder relationship management
- A keen eye for design, and a desire to build a beautiful native experience
- Customer oriented problem solver with excellent communication skills
- Experience with Rust or other backend languages (such as Go, Python or C++) with an interest in learning Rust
- Passion for skiing and commitment to personal improvement in the sport (beginner skiers welcome)

- Kotlin front-end
- Majority Jetpack Compose UI, with some XML views in older components
- Support for Android 8 and above
- A Rust core shared by our iOS app, Android app, and backend server, ensuring a high level of platform parity
