Job Summary:

The Learning Technologist supports the work of Learning Designers and Student Services Co-ordinators in the Academic Services team in ensuring that Academic Partnerships meets its commitments to its partner institutions in the development and delivery of online learning courses.

In addition, this particular role manages the ongoing process of revising existing courses for relaunch to subsequent cohorts, liaising closely with internal stakeholders and partner faculty, and making edits directly to the courses

Day In a Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

• Manage the process by which existing courses are revised and refreshed for release to subsequent cohorts, liaising closely with internal AP stakeholders, external vendors and partner faculty
• Functional testing of new and revised courses prior to launch to live students
• Live shell checks to review work of other LTs or vendor staff
• Configure courses for usage by students and faculty in advance of a term start
• Backup and restore master, live and test course shells
• Analysis of new platforms/applications/plugins to meet requirements for new products
• Contribute to shared documentation and constantly assess processes and workflows
• Provide technical support for escalated faculty issues
• Provide technical support for learning designers during the course development process
• Implement media assets in newly developed courses created by Learning Designers
• Provide subject matter expertise on the usage of tools and technologies employed for course delivery
• Deliver occasional training on the use of an LMS or tools to internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that revisions to course content are implemented in a sustainable manner
• Influences and motivates people, both within and outside the business unit, to take action toward achieving business group and organization goals

What You’ll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in relevant field
• Experience using Blackboard, Moodle and Canvas platforms
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years’ relevant professional experience; experience in web development, learning technologist and/or online learning;
• Great communication skill, enthusiasm for helping others resolve issues, and a desire to work in a fast-paced team environment; collaboration skills;
• An effective problem-solver, able to seek out solutions to unexpected challenges;
• Project management skills;
• Self-direction, attention to detail, and organizational skills; ability to work in a multi-tasking, entrepreneurial environment;
• Strong technical acumen.
