The role

Davies seeks an experienced commercial solicitor to join a small, friendly team of in-house lawyers reporting to the Assistant General Counsel for Commercial Contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing, advising on, negotiating and drafting a range of client contracts across the Davies businesses including for insurance claims handling, legal services and software services
• Reviewing, advising on, negotiating and drafting a range of supplier contracts including for SaaS and a range of usual business procurement activities
• Reviewing NDAs and Heads of Terms
• Assisting with the creation of standard template contracts, playbooks, guides and policies
• Working with external legal counsel
• Supporting the Davies businesses with a range of legal issues including litigation, commercial aspects of Group restructuring, property issues, special projects
• Becoming a trusted advisor across the Davies Group by assisting and advising the business and internal stakeholders

Key skills and experience required

• Commercial solicitor extensive experience and strong technical ability
• In house experience and/or experience of the insurance industry is beneficial but not essential
• Demonstrated experience with a wide range of commercial contracts and proficiency in the drafting and negotiation of contracts
• Experience with data privacy and security laws and related contract provisions
• Good teamworking and communication skills are required to work with a range of internal clients and stakeholders across the Davies businesses
• Will suit a self-motivated, organised individual that can prioritise and work efficiently across multiple issues simultaneously
