About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Legal Counsel to join our 4-person strong In-house Legal department. This role is integral to supporting the Head of Legal & Company Secretariat and Senior Legal Counsel on a wide array of legal issues, strategic projects, and product development initiatives. As Legal Counsel, you will provide high-quality legal advice, support the development of new market entries, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help shape the future of PCL’s services and maintain their reputation for excellence.

Who are you?
You are a driven, self-motivated lawyer with between 1 -4 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a role with exposure to general commercial legal matters and contracts, with some in house experience. You possess the ability to influence and build effective relationships with key stakeholders, offering insightful and commercially astute advice. Your pragmatic approach, resilience, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment will be key to your success. Prior experience working in the financial services regulated industry in either lending or insurance would be beneficial, or at the very least, a keen interest in working for a regulated financial services business. If you have an inquisitive mind and the ability to learn quickly and build strong relationships with stakeholders we want to hear from you.

PCL operates a Hybrid working policy where some time in the Leatherhead and / or London office is expected depending on the team, and the type of work being done. The Legal Counsel role is available to anyone in the UK (England & Wales qualified) who is able to commute to the London or Leatherhead office up to twice a month, with the option to attend the office more frequently if they want to. In addition, PCL holds two all company in person ‘townhall’ events per year which all colleagues are expected to attend.
