Part-Time Accountant in Bakewell

Sharp Consultancy are working with an outstanding organisation based in Bakewell as they are now looking to recruit a Part-Time Accountant into the team.

After recently bringing finance in-house, this role will be working closely with an experienced finance manager.

The duties of this role will include:* Daily bank reconciliations* Updating and monitoring cashflow forecasts* Reviewing payroll reports, posting payroll journals and allocating any staff recharges between entities.

* Preparing statutory payments to HMRC and managing pension payments and general pension administration.

* Processing month end journals including accruals, prepayments, intercompany reconciliations* Performing accurate reconciliations of income streams from ticketing systems and online shops and third party software.

* Ensuring all purchase invoices and expenses are received and processed in a timely manner, highlighting and challenge any discrepancies and correct any nominal or VAT coding errors (partial exempt business).

* To prepare payment runs and collate and reconcile supplier statements and efficiently resolve any supplier queries or discrepancies raised* Supervision of sales ledger and management of debtors and taking appropriate action in respect of debts outside agreed payment terms.

* To reconcile all credit card and expenses submitted and ensure correct supporting evidence is supplied.

* To work with the Management Accountant to develop robust financial systems and procedures, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.

* Ability to communicate effectively with budget holders and investigate variances from budget for omission or error taking appropriate corrective action.

* Analyse and monitor utility costs across the organisation in order to negotiate contract renewals.

* Initially to prepare monthly accounts to trial balance level maintaining accurate financial records and assisting Management Accountant in preparation of monthly management accounts/reporting pack moving towards taking full accounting responsibility for one of the enterprises.

* To support the Management Accountant with the overall annual budget setting process and take full responsibility for setting and monitoring budgets for designated business areas.

* To manage new project work and investment proposals.

* Financial grant claim administration.
