Manufacturing PCB Rework / Assembly Operator - 18 Month FTC with good potential of perm afterMy client is a developer and manufacturer of products used in underwater applications i.e. sonar systems, seismology, and mapping.Who are we looking for?This role specialises in PCB rework / assembly, and to build the full range of products within recommended assembly build times and ensuring the highest level of quality standards throughout the production process.Your responsibilities:* To assemble the constituent parts of the products from PCB level, through sub-assembly to finished units, following Company engineering drawings. Specific Focus will be on the rework of PCBs.* To accurately interpret and replicate the circuit diagrams, schematics and wiring schedules of Engineer's to produce prototype Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's), Production PCB's and Production test equipment.* To assemble both test cables and prototype PCB's with surface mounts and leaded components to a highest quality. Perform prototype coil winding assembly as required by each design specification.* To carry out prototype modifications in-line with IPC standards and Engineering guidelines and requirements.* To understand and build to wiring schedules, using appropriate meters, where required, to check assembled work.* To highlight any specification or design error through the Cell Co-ordinators or Departmental Manager or directly with the Production Engineering team.* To ensure all activities are completed in accordance with current Quality System procedures and standards and, wherever possible, within recommended times specified on the Company ERP system.* To raise the appropriate levels of non-conformance reports, Engineering Change request etc. in compliance with the Company Quality System requirements and Departmental guidelines.* To establish effective working relations with all departments, i.e. Production Engineering, Stores, Quality etc. to ensure maximum co-operation for the timely resolution of assembly related issues.* To provide assistance and support to other Assembly staff when requested, to complete specific activities.* To understand and follow all Manufacturing Department administrative procedures and maintain records via the systems provided.* To understand and use Company IT resources, i.e. Intranet, ERP system in support of day-to-day activities such as part enquiries, stock search, etc.* To actively support and contribute to the creation and implementation of production improvement initiatives.* To maintain a safe working environment, demonstrating clear commitment to health and safety in the workplace through strict adherence to Company and Departmental Health and Safety and COSHH policies and practices.Essential Experience * The ability to read and interpret Engineer drawings* Previous manufacturing assembly experience, including soldering and crimping* Proven ability to use production equipment i.e. soldering irons, crimps etc.* Surface mount experience* IT literate* Attention to detail* Accuracy* Person drive and enthusiasm* Ability to work work well with others* Good manual dexterityDesirable Experience* NVQ Level 3 in Electronics or equivalent* IPC 3 J StandardCarbon60, Lorien & SRG - The Impellam Group STEM Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy
