Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our firm based out of London and assets worldwide from California to Cyprus and from Germany to Greece. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial modelling, market research, and investment analysis in the dynamic world of venture capital.

Location: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market and industry analysis to identify investment/portfolio/exit opportunities and trends.
  • Financial Modelling & Valuation: Assist in building and refining financial models to value companies and analyze financial statements.
  • Presentation Preparation: Create and deliver compelling presentations using PowerPoint to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Day to Day Support: Provide essential support to our executive and back-office teams with various tasks, regardless of their scale or complexity. Tasks can vary widely based on current needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Current enrollment in a degree program (Bachelor's or Master's) in Finance, Engineering, or a related field from a leading institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling tools. We require exceptional analytics and you will be tested on your ability to chart/deck/model on the fly and analyze a situation.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and thorough in research and data analysis.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Modelling: Experience or certification in financial modelling preferred.
  • Languages: English and Greek (Bilingual a must!)

Skill Requirements (Tested):

  • Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of venture capital and private equity markets, particularly in sectors relevant to Brookstreet. Familiarity with the evolution of venture capital in the USA, Europe, and Greece. Knowledge of various funds, their unique selling points, key differentiators, and significant deals and players in the ecosystem.
  • Valuation Expertise: Proficiency in financial modelling and valuation methodologies with mastery of Excel, including FSA, Multiples, DCF, LBs, and SOTP.
  • Presentation Skills: Experience or exposure to creating and reviewing Information Memorandums, Pitchbooks, Due Diligence reports, Industry/Sector Reviews, and PPMs. Ability to assess visual designs, flow, and synthesis of data.
  • Structured Thinking: Apply MECE (Mutually Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive) analysis. Decompose problems into components.
  • Strategic Overview: Ability to analyze the competitive advantage of assets and industry dynamics.
  • Financial StoryTelling: Ability to interpret financial statements, understanding key metrics such as budgets/P&L, margins, quality of cash flows, balance sheet health and ROCE.
  • Research Skills: Familiarity with industry tools such as Pitchbook, Bloomberg, and CapIQ, including advanced queries and techniques.
  • Understanding of ESG: Knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and their impact on private equity and venture capital investments.
  • Expertise in AI: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence technologies and their implications for private equity and venture capital sectors.

The aforementioned skills are foundational for our interns. As our analysts progress, they gain expertise in deal structures, term sheets, and portfolio management.

Full Time Conversion!

This internship is designed for current/recent Undergraduates or Master students and is not expected to lead to a full-time position. However, exceptional interns who demonstrate extraordinary skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive influence on our team, may be considered for a full-time role.
