Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals dedicated to excellence in engineering and project management.As Prototype Machinist you will play a crucial role in our projects by proding complex, tight tolerance parts using conventional machining methods.The ideal candidate will be a time-served fitter/toolmaker with strong experience on manual lathes/mills.Responsibilities:Operate manual lathes and mills to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specificationsWork to exact standards, ensuring precision and accuracy on complex and tight tolerance componentsCollaborate with the engineering team to develop and refine manufacturing processesConduct testing and quality control checks on finished parts to ensure they meet our standardsMaintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to company policies and proceduresRequirements:Must be a UK national in order to pass security vetting upon employmentTime served Fitter/Craftsman/Toolmaker (C&G/NVQ 3)Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering environmentExperience operating manual lathes and milling machinesAbility to work to exact standards, producing small components to tight tolerances Ideally, knowledge of electro-pneumatic equipmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a small teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsIf you are a motivated and talented engineer looking to join a dynamic team in the defence industry, we encourage you to apply.
