Grant Thornton UK is looking for Assistant Managers and Experienced Managers to join our thriving UK Audit practice. These candidates should be either exam qualified SACIA Audit professionals or final year Associates, who are ready for a new challenge in the UK.

Within our UK Audit practice, we’re very keen to support and hire South Africans who are looking to take the next step in their career in the UK. We have a fantastic community of South Africans within the firm, so you’ll be supported by people who have made the same transition as you, and can help you settle into life in the UK.

We would love the opportunity to talk to you in person about what we have to offer in our UK firm, as such, we are holding recruitment events in South Africa in June 2024. We will be holding a number of face-to-face interviews week commencing 3rd June, with the informal recruitment evening events being held in Johannesburg on 4th June, and Cape Town on 6th June.

With start dates from January 2025 for newly qualified Auditors, and qualified SACIA AM’s and Mangers to start as soon as possible.

    A look into the role

    As an Assistant Audit Manager, within our Public Sector service lines, you will:

  • Become a trusted business advisor to our clients, with a focus on quality and reputation
  • Project manage client work and oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
  • Lead onsite audit teams, preparing and reviewing financial statements and updating management
  • Build and maintain strong working relationship with your team and our clients, providing support to junior team members
  • Constantly strive to push yourself, and the business, further, knowing you’re supported through every stage
     
  • Knowing you’re right for us

    Joining us as an Assistant Audit Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA), and to be confident leading audits of varying sizes. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102
  • An interest in our clients, with the ability to confidently discuss business challenges and needs
  • Extensive experience of using audit software and Microsoft packages
  • Project management experience
  • An interest in maintaining and developing your technical knowledge
