Experience working in a school setting and experience with SEND pupils is essential. Teaching ability across the age ranges is favourable. This role is to start in September and initially a Maternity Cover for 1 year. Expectations:Have experience working with young peopleQTS or QTLSBe highly organised with excellent communication skillsHave a desire to work with, inspire and support childrenLead a range of subjects with pupils.Have an interest in supporting young people with a variety of SENDHave experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable not essential)Be able to supply school with teaching referencesBe a part of the school team taking part in the wider school environmentHave an understanding of behavioural managementMain Responsibilities:Teaching a range of subjects in a class setting in SEND School.Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.Supporting SEND children with their work in a class settingManaging difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policySafeguarding vulnerable pupilsPossible supervising on lunch and break timesSupporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroomBuilding relationships with staff and pupilsCollecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessmentsFeedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progressTo have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupilsPotentially lead in a subject areaEnsure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carersBenefits of working with Empowering Learning:Dedicated consultant allocated to support you with any questions or concerns.Support in writing CV's and job applicationsFast, effective compliance service£150 for referral of Teachers or Teaching Assistants!You will receive free, up to date safeguarding trainingTraining workshops and CPD courses to provide professional developmentEmpowering Learning Limited is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
