We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly-organised and experienced Quantity Surveying Professional with a strong attention to detail to join our expanding team at N-Gen UK, based at Thorpe Park in Leeds.
The successful applicant will form part of a close knit, dynamic Commercial Team and you will be working with and supporting other project team members. You will have experience in maximising commercial value, influencing cost control, mitigating risk, and assisting with the delivery of all specific business outputs and targets.

Key responsibilities:n·
Developing commercial and procurement strategies to deliver costs within budgets.n·
Drafting of complex contract arrangement and appropriate terms of engagement.n·
Building and maintaining working relationships with the supply chain and clients.n·
Complying with NGEN governance, policies, and proceduresn·
Preparing budgets and forecasts and accurate financial reporting of performance.n·
Estimating costs of projects (civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentational)n·
Measuring of quantities and pricing of work as required.n·
Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and changen·
Ensuring all financial aspects and impacts of a contract are clear to all stakeholders.n·
Preparing commercial reporting (internal and external) and other reports which may be required.n·
Managing projects in accordance with internal budgetsn·
Challenging & managing cost control and providing cost mitigation measures where appropriate.n·
Undertaking contract administration, including change management and maintaining associated registers.n·
Negotiating and agreeing change events, extension of time claims and final accounts within the timescales required.n·
Assessing applications for payment in accordance with the contract and preparation of payment certificates.n·
Assisting with the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.n·
Undertaking monthly accruals and forecasting for the business.
Skills and experience required:n·
Minimum of 10 years Quantity Surveying or otherwise appropriate experiencen·
Minimum of 3 years experience in any of following industries - Gas, Utilities, Civil Engineering, M&E or Renewable Technology.n·
Must work well with others and form strong relationships within the team.n·
Commercially astute with good knowledge of all NEC Forms of Contract.n·
Excellent organisation and record keeping skills.n·
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.n·
Strong communicator with confident in dealing with clients, project partners and stakeholders.n·
Ability to meet challenging deadlines and prioritise tasks efficiently.n·
Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)n·
Good communication skills including the ability to negotiate and communicate clearly with others.n·
Work flexibly to meet the needs of the role including occasional travel to other locations within the UK.n·
Self-motivated. Capable of working under minimal supervision and on own initiative.n·
