Service Manager – Looked After Children’s Team in Havering | Social Care Industry

Ackerman Pierce is actively recruiting a Service Manager for the Looked After Children’s Team in Havering.

This position is initially for 3-6 months, with potential for extension based on performance and internal circumstances.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee staff to ensure effective service delivery to children, young people, and their families.
• Lead and monitor staff in maintaining robust records on relevant systems and databases.
• Coordinate recruitment, training, assessment, and ongoing support for potential Carers.
• Assist the Head of Service in planning and developing services for vulnerable children and young people, identifying needs and addressing potential challenges.
• Efficiently manage budgets and ensure cost-effective services. Produce reports and participate in meetings/forums as required.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience as a Service Manager within the UK Social Care industry.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role within the UK.
• Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist with obtaining this).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• DipSW/CQSW equivalent.
• SWE Qualification.
