Apply NowJob Role: Teaching AssistantContract: Full-time (Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm)Location: Wakefield, WF4Teaching Personnel are looking for a resilient and passionate Teaching Assistant to support a Secondary provision in Wakefield.
The school has two sites in WF4 and WF9.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to both sites and support secondary aged students with challenging behaviour and trauma backgrounds.
Main Duties:To provide support for individual pupils or groups of pupils with SEMH or SEND needs, assisting with their learning activities, providing supervision and careWhere appropriate, to support the integration of pupils into mainstream educationTo assist with the personal needs of pupils including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare mattersTo prepare the classroom as directed for lessons and to clear away afterwardsTo report to the teacher or line manager any pupil problems or behavioural difficulties in accordance with school policyTo report to the teacher or line manager on pupil progress and achievements in accordance with school policyTo assist the teacher or line manager by contributing as directed to a pupils’ individual behaviour or education planTo provide or gather routine information to or from parents/carers under the direction of the teacher or line managerTo provide general support with learning activities (literacy, numeracy etc) to enable pupils to understand instructions and to ensure they remain on taskTo assist with the maintenance of equipment and resourcesTo assist pupils in using resources, including ICTTo assist with the supervision of pupils outside of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.
These duties shall be undertaken within the postholder’s contractual hoursTo participate in school visits, assisting with activities as requiredTo undertake routine clerical duties including bulk photocopyingRequirements:Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK residentWilling to travelExperience in challenging behaviour or willing to undertake additional trainingHave an overseas criminal clearance or willing to apply for oneHave a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for oneMinimum of six months UK residencyWe do not accept those on skilled worker visasPlease ensure you have references available upon request covering the last 24 months of employmentIf you are interested in applying or finding out more then please send across your CV.
