Job Type: Temporary – until the end of the academic year, with possibility to go permanent.

Salary: Competitive, between £12.

90 - £13.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 student with high-level behaviour needs and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the student's academic progress and promoting their overall well-being within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized 1:1 support to the designated Year 6 student, assisting with academic tasks and implementing tailored strategies to address behavioural and SEMH concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, ensuring the student's individual needs are met effectively.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes the student's social and emotional development, including the implementation of therapeutic interventions where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with high-level behaviour needs and SEMH challenges, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, behaviour management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies, with the ability to adapt approaches to meet individual student needs.
